The UK Holiday Entitlement Calculator helps full-time permanent workers, part-time workers, agency workers, zero-hours workers, irregular-hours workers and part-year workers estimate statutory holiday entitlement.
Almost all UK workers are legally entitled to paid holiday. The standard statutory entitlement is usually 5.6 weeks per year. For a 5-day week, this equals 28 days. For workers on 6 or 7 days per week, statutory leave is still normally capped at 28 days.
This calculator supports fixed days, fixed weekly hours, agency work, irregular work and zero-hours work. It also allows starter/leaver pro-rata calculations where someone only worked part of the leave year.
Worker Types Covered
- Full-time permanent worker: usually 28 days for a 5-day week.
- Part-time worker: days per week × 5.6.
- Fixed-hours worker: weekly hours × 5.6.
- Agency worker: holiday entitlement still applies if classed as a worker.
- Zero-hours worker: holiday can accrue based on hours worked.
- Irregular-hours worker: 12.07% accrual method can be used for statutory entitlement.
- Starter/leaver: entitlement can be pro-rated by weeks worked in the leave year.
